Iowa Health Des Moines Residency Programs
Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program
Hear about our program
"The quality of training at IMMC is exceptional. Faculty members are committed to resident education and enjoy teaching. I have always felt welcome on the other services, and walked away from those experiences having learned a great deal.
Residents are afforded a very diverse surgical case load in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery. Faculty members are very mentoring and are outstanding educators. We also are fortunate that we gain equally ample experience with inpatient hospital care. Overall our experience is extremely well rounded from both a surgical and medical standpoint."
Third-Year Resident, Roger Drown, D.P.M.
"I chose the Iowa Methodist Podiatric Residency program for its multitude of strengths. The hands-on surgical experience is second to none. Surgical case load and diversity are excellent. The attending physicians are always willing to teach and encourage learning in a professional environment. Our didactics include a surgical cadaver lab, monthly grand rounds, and journal club.
In my time at IMMC, I have always been treated with respect, both by the foot and ankle attendings as well as physicians of other specialties. The off-service rotations are also very beneficial, as expectations match those of the residents of other specialties. I am very pleased to be learning in Des Moines, Iowa where the opportunities for learning are as good as any other location in the country."
Second-Year Resident, Tim Holcomb, D.P.M.
